Each slab is sourced, milled, and finished by hand from domestic hardwood — walnut, oak, ash, and hickory. No two are alike, and that's the point.

Logs are selected from domestic hardwood stands, chosen for grain, figure, and character.
Each log is sawn to preserve its live edge, keeping the natural silhouette of the tree intact.
Slabs are air- and kiln-dried to a stable moisture content before any finish work begins.
A live edge slab keeps the outer contour of the tree instead of squaring it off — the bark line, the burls, the places where the grain went its own way.
Esser Hardwood works exclusively with American-grown hardwood, sourced and milled with an eye toward pieces that would otherwise be passed over for having too much character.
Every slab is one of one. What you see is what you get.
